My First Paid Gig
And I screwed it up! :p
Conny selected 6 of us from our class to perform during a bridal fair at Traders Hotel. She didn’t mention it at first, but this will be a paid gig. That’s a nice bonus. We really did it for the love of the art, not to get paid.
But somehow, the nerves got the better of us and a few of us somehow managed to forget our steps. Or is it the lack of practice to really gel our chemistry?
The thing is, there’s really not a lot to be nervous about. It’s not like there is a room full of audience looking at us. In fact, there was very little spectators.
Overall, this is probably our worst performance.
I managed to forget my steps early in the routine. The others, during various parts. We were not really synchronized, some moving faster, some slower and definitely not to the beat of the music. The feel of moving together as a tribe wasn’t there.
We definitely have a long way to go before we can call ourselves professionals.
There was a photographer from Guang Ming Daily taking pictures. Not sure if they will publish our pics.
I think I will finally treat myself to Francis’ sirloin steak with my share of the fee.
