Lion’s Breath For Anti Aging
No, I am not suggesting you put your face on breathing distance in front of a real life lion :p
Lion’s Breath is actually a breathing exercise in Yoga that exercises the muscles on the face. Therefore it’s considered good for anti aging because it tightens the skin and prevents sagging.
When Wendy mentioned this during class, I immediately perked up.
You basically have take a really deep breath then let it out really hard while at the same time pop your eyes (we’re talking mata terbeliak), open your mouth wide and stick your tongue out. Can be a little OTT for some people.
Because of this, she often gets the, “Really must do one meh?” reaction from her students LOL.
So she always gets her them to do it during the Down Dog position. That way, they can’t see each other’s faces.
I remember my previous choir master going through this technique with us during warm up. He says it will help loosen up our facial muscles and help us when singing the fast pieces.
Yet another useful tip I picked up during class ^_^
