Confessions of a City Slicker

Ever come across a song that just stubbornly sticks to your mind for days, sometimes weeks?  Sometimes we find ourselves humming it at work, in the shower, while driving……

Michael Wong’s Tong Hua or Fairy Tale is one such song.  Of course, when I first heard it, being the ang moh sai that I am, I had no idea what the whole song was about.  It just has such a beautiful melody yet hauntingly sad at the same time.

Coupled with the MTV, WOW!  It was a very powerful combination.  Even a hardened bitch like myself went a little teary eyed when I first saw it.

Michael Wong is indeed one of the most talented artists of our time.  Malaysian Chinese Boleh!  It’s a smart move for him to move to Taiwan.  I doubt he would have reached this kind of success had he been based here.
